About Classroom CMO
I didn’t plan to become a teacher. I planned to change how teaching works.
For 17 years, I worked in marketing — leading strategy for agencies, enterprises, and consulting firms, building campaigns that earned attention, changed behavior, and drove results. I knew how to stop the scroll. I knew how to make people care about something they didn’t know they needed yet.
Then I walked into a classroom.
And I saw immediately that teachers were doing the same thing — without the language, without the frameworks, and without anyone telling them that what they do every single day is one of the most sophisticated influence operations on the planet.
That’s why Classroom CMO exists.

Nothing Wasted
My path to education wasn’t a pivot. It was a convergence.
Everything I learned building marketing strategy — how attention works, how curiosity is engineered, how great brands make people feel seen — maps directly onto what great teachers do. The best educators I’ve met don’t just teach content. They position it. They earn buy-in. They build loyal audiences who come back tomorrow because yesterday mattered.
They just didn’t have the words for it.
Classroom CMO gives teachers those words — and the strategy to back them up.

What We Believe
Teachers have always been influencers.
The profession just never gave them that language — or the strategy to go with it.
We believe the most powerful professional development doesn’t ask teachers to do more. It reframes what they’re already doing so they can do it with more intention, more confidence, and better results.
You don’t have to change what you teach. Just change the wrapper.
Who am I?
I am Nedra Hutton, a mom, wife, marketing strategist, educator, avid coffee drinker, skilled shopper, and doctoral candidate whose career sits at the intersection of influence, learning, and performance.
With 17+ years of marketing experience spanning agency, enterprise, and consulting — including work with national brands and Fortune 500 clients — I bring a rare combination of real-world marketing expertise and classroom credibility to every workshop I lead.
I am working towards an EdD and teach full-time, which means everything I brings to Classroom CMO has been tested where it matters most: in front of real students, on a Monday morning.
I also served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Miami and run Plot Twist Consulting, a marketing strategy practice.
Classroom CMO is where all of it comes together.
